Green Means Go! at American Heart Association Walk
The American Heart Association’s first-ever Start! Heart Walk in Simi Valley was an immense success, raising approximately $100,000. The September 8 event drew nearly 400 walkers to a sunshine-filled day at Rancho Tapo Community Park.
“Since this was the first time the Heart Walk was held in Simi Valley, it was fantastic that around 60 of our employees came out for the event in a sea of Green Means Go! team shirts,” said Ann Pietschker, Simi Valley Hospital’s director of the Cardiopulmonary Department and the walk’s co-chair for the hospital.
Simi Valley Hospital President and CEO Gary Irish, who chaired the event, expressed his tremendous appreciation for the hospital staff members’ participation.
“I want to thank all of our employees and hospital team captains who came out and got involved in the community,” he said. “We demonstrated a great deal of hospital pride and a strong and united voice for bringing heart services to our deserving community.”
