Flower Power Helps Build Tower at Simi Valley Hospital

Michael’s Flowers in Simi Valley has donated $450 to Simi Valley Hospital’s Patient Care Tower construction project. The gift was the result of promotion at the florist shop in which a portion of a recent day’s sales receipts was donated to the hospital’s Foundation.

Construction started in December 2002 on the 146,000-square-foot building, which will feature 170 spacious private rooms, state-of-the-art equipment and expanded services, including cardiology, neurosurgery and a neonatal intensive care unit. Construction is anticipated to be completed in 2006.

“This thoughtful and generous gift exemplifies what a community hospital is all about,” said Simi Valley Hospital President and CEO Margaret R. Peterson, PhD. “It takes a partnership among individuals, groups, businesses and the hospital itself to provide top-quality health care services for everyone in our community. We are truly grateful for the philanthropic leadership of Michael’s Flowers.
