Nancy Reagan Breast Center Selected as Top Charity by Brighton Collectibles
Proceeds to Help Fund Digital Mammography Technologies Underway
The Nancy Reagan Breast Center of Simi Valley Hospital has been selected as the premier women’s charity by the Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks Brighton Collectibles stores in celebrating National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
As part of the Power of Pink campaign, Brighton Collectibles has pledged to donate $10 to the Nancy Reagan Breast Center for each $50 necklace and bracelet sold. For each $34 earrings sold, Brighton will donate $5.00 to the Nancy Reagan Breast Center. The limited edition Power of Pink necklace, bracelet and earrings will be available from September 29 to October 31, 2007.
“This year’s collection uses semi-precious rose quartz beads and hollow pierced silver caps, but there is even greater beauty in the meanings they hold,” said Tracy Storbeck, Brighton Collectibles store manager. “The rose quartz stones are a soothing, calming crystal that is said to promote love and healing.”
Funds donated from Brighton will benefit digital mammography upgrades currently underway at the Nancy Reagan Breast Center. Over the coming months, Simi Valley Hospital (SVH) will install a $1.7 million, tandem system called computerized radiology (CR) and picture archive computer system (PACS). Those components will fully digitize the process for mammograms that, up to this time, have remained in the conventional film format.
“This bracelet is a reminder of the importance of breast health,” said Donna Wick, executive director of the Simi Valley Hospital Foundation. “We are truly grateful for Brighton‘s support of our mission. The Nancy Reagan Breast Center has a proud tradition of safeguarding women from breast cancer.”
Brighton Collectibles in Simi Valley is located in the Simi Valley Town Center Mall on Town Center Way; Brighton Collectibles of Thousand Oaks is located in The Lakes mall on Thousand Oaks Blvd.
