Brighton Collectibles’ Gives $8K for Nancy Reagan Breast Center

Taking a stand against breast disease, both the Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks Brighton Collectibles gift stores collected more than $8 thousand in support of the Nancy Reagan Breast Center as part of a Women’s Health Month fundraising campaign held last October.

On Friday, March 7, Brightons’ store management presented the Simi Valley Hospital Foundation with a check for $8,060 to mark the momentous occasion. “We are overwhelmed by Brighton’s support and generosity,” said Jill Haney, Simi Valley Hospital Foundation board chair. “Their efforts will further assist the Nancy Reagan Breast Center expand its mission of caring for the women of our community—we are truly thankful for Brighton’s involvement with the Foundation.”

The donation is a result of Brighton’s Power of Pink Campaign that donates a portion of the proceeds from the sales of limited edition necklaces, bracelets and earrings to a local charity. Both the Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks locations selected the Nancy Reagan Breast Center as its beneficiary. In all, a total of $8,060 was raised in the fight against breast disease.

“This is such a wonderful gift and ones that truly reflects our community’s generosity,” said Jeremy Brewer, Simi Valley Hospital Foundation director. “We are thankful to both the Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks stores and their clientele. The women of our community really care about supporting local health causes.”

The Nancy Reagan Breast Center was established in 1994 as the areas premier mammography service. Today, the Nancy Reagan Breast Center serves the greater Ventura County area with recently purchased state-of-the-art digital mammogram technology.
