Demolition to Commence on 1965 Hospital Building; New 7,000-Square-Foot Lobby to Be Constructed in its Place
Simi Valley Hospital will begin demolition of the original hospital building (the 1965 structure) to make way for a new 7,000-square-foot lobby, featuring a vaulted ceiling, chapel and gift shop. Construction on this phase of construction will take approximately 10 months to complete.
Construction of the new lobby follows completion of the 146,000-square-foot, four-story Patient Care Tower featuring 128 private-care rooms, a 24-bed Intensive Care Unit, an entire floor dedicated to Women’s and Children’s Services and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Abatement activities – removal of asbestos -
July 21, 2008, 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Interior demolition activities include gutting of the building, removal of doors, cabinets, windows, piping, fixtures. External demolition activities include demolition with heavy machinery.
