Simi Valley Hospital Foundation to Offer 2009 Golf Classic

Golf Classic To Benefit The Hospital’s Emergency Department Expansion

SIMI VALLEY, CA—Simi Valley Hospital Foundation will host its 14th Annual Golf Classic on Wednesday, October 28, at the Moorpark Country Club, located at 11800 Championship Drive in Moorpark. Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the expansion of the Simi Valley Hospital Emergency Department.

The last Emergency Department expansion in 1985 was a part of a building project that added 64,000-square feet to the hospital’s Emergency, Radiology, Surgical and Laboratory Services to provide care for a population of 77,500 residents. Today, Simi Valley has more than 125,000 residents and the Emergency Department cares for more than 2300 patient visits per month.

“The population of Simi Valley and Moorpark continues to grow,” said Susan Myers, Executive Director of the Simi Valley Hospital Foundation. “The Golf Classic will help launch a campaign in raising vital funds to enlarge the Emergency Department. The much needed expansion will enable our incredible staff and physicians to continue meeting the current and future emergency medical needs of our community.”
