Simi Valley Hospital Offers Free Prostate Cancer Clinic On Sept. 13
Every man age 50 and over is at risk!
Simi Valley Hospital will offer free prostate cancer screenings on Sunday, September 13, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m at the Simi Valley Hospital Aspen Center, 2750 N. Sycamore Drive, Simi Valley. The screenings provided will include a free prostate specific antigen blood test and digital rectal exam. Hospital physicians will conduct the exams.
The only well established risk factors for prostate cancer are age, ethnicity, and family history of the disease. There is some evidence that the risk of dying from prostate cancer may increase with obesity.
An estimated 186,320 new cases occurred in the United States in 2008. Prostate cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men.
