Moorpark Chamber Names Simi Valley Hospital Business of the Year
Simi Valley Hospital has been named the 2011 Large Business of the Year by the Moorpark Chamber of Commerce. The award was among 10 given during the chamber’s annual awards and installation dinner on January 28 at the Moorpark Country Club.
The Moorpark Chamber recognized Simi Valley Hospital as a provider of lifesaving services to the community, as well as an economic engine and major employer in the area. Simi Valley Hospital participates in community events, provides free health screenings and partners with a variety of Moorpark-area organizations, including the Boys and Girls Club of Moorpark, Moorpark Country Days, the Rotary Club of Moorpark, the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
“We are proud of our history serving the communities of Simi and Moorpark. Our employees, physicians and volunteers have worked hard to make Simi Valley Hospital a key partner in the health and wellness of all the communities we serve,” said Simi Valley Hospital President and CEO Darwin Remboldt. “This recognition from the Moorpark Chamber of Commerce is a testament to their dedication and service to our patients and visitors. It is an honor to accept this award on their behalf.”
Also during the award ceremony, Jeremy Brewer, director of Simi Valley Hospital’s Volunteer Services Department, was installed as a new member of the chamber’s board of directors.
This is the second time in recent years that Simi Valley Hospital has been recognized as a business leader by an area chamber of commerce. In 2008, the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce named the hospital its business of the year.
