Employees of Simi Valley Hospital & Health Care Services enjoy a wide variety of valuable benefits including the following:
MEDICAL INSURANCE PLAN
An EPO Medical Plan is offered to all eligible full-time and part-time employees on the first of the month following completion of 90 days of continuous employment. Employees pay a portion of the premium and co-payments. The plan has no deductible.
The Dental Plan is offered to all eligible full-time and part-time employees on the first of the month following completion of 90 days of continuous employment. Employees pay a portion of the premium and co-payments. The plan has a $50 deductible.
Paid leave is time off with pay for vacation, personal days, short-term sick leave, and holidays. Holidays include New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day, which are paid at time and one-half. Presidents’ Day and Martin Luther King Day are paid at straight pay.
The accrual rate for eligible employees is based on their years of service and hours worked per pay period. A full-time (80 hours per pay period) employee accrues 7.1 hours of paid leave each pay period for the first four years of service. The rate increases at five years, and again at the beginning of the 10th year (up to 10.2 hours/pay period).
Sick leave provides employees with pay during time off for a long-term illness. It accrues at the rate of 2.2 hours per pay period for employees who work 80 hours per pay period, and is prorated for part-time.
The hospital operates a child care center which serves children ages 6 weeks to 12 years. The tuition rate is discounted for employees. Part-time and full-time spots are available, including after-school and summer camp for school-aged children.
FLEXIBLE SPENDING PROGRAM
The flexible spending program enables employees to put aside before-tax contributions to be used for eligible dependent care (maximum $5,000 per year) or out-of-pocket medical expenses (maximum $2,400 per year).
403(b) RETIREMENT PROGRAM
SVH&HCS participates in the Adventist HealthCare Retirement Plan (AHRP). Employees may begin contributing before-tax dollars at any time. Each employee can direct how his or her contributions will be invested in the more than two dozen funds available through the plan.
The hospital contributes 2.5% of annual pay to the account of each eligible employee who works 1,000 or more hours in the calendar year. Additionally, the hospital matches 25% of employee’s contributions up to a maximum of 4% of annual pay. Employees become fully vested after receiving hospital contributions for 5 years.

The hospital provides $5,000 term life insurance and $5,000 accidental for eligible full-time employees. Additionally, eligible employees may purchase voluntary term life at competitive rates.
HEALTH CLUB DISCOUNTS
Employees receive a discounted rate in the membership fee and monthly fees at the nearby Oakridge Health Club, which offers aerobic classes, exercise equipment, tennis, racquetball, and swimming.
