SVH: In the News — Foundation Executive Director
George “Bucky” Weeks Appointed Executive Director of SVH Foundation
George ‘Bucky’ Weeks has been appointed as Simi Valley Hospital’s first Foundation Executive Director. Weeks has the task of spearheading a capital campaign to raise funds for the hospital’s renovation and expansion project. Recruiting community members to form a foundation board is Weeks’ first priority.
“Bucky’s talents and strengths will make a lasting contribution to our hospital Foundation and our community,” said Margaret Peterson, president and chief executive officer, Simi Valley Hospital.
Weeks is already a familiar face to many around the hospital campus and the community, as he provided consultant services on the hospital’s foundation application process.
With both hospital and foundation experience, Weeks brings a strong presence in performing his new role at Simi Valley Hospital. Weeks’ professional experience includes 30 years of working within non-profit organizations in administrative and fundraising capacities.
Before coming on board to SVH, Weeks held an administrative position at Mature Health Resources, a non-profit organization in Orange County that assists seniors with healthcare concerns. Weeks has also served as a Vice President and Director of Chaplain Services at Brea Community Hospital.
“One of my goals is to portray a true image of Simi Valley Hospital,” said Weeks. “Our hospital has a caring staff who actively promote the quality of life in our community—we have to do a better job of getting this message out.”
Weeks received his Masters in divinity from Andrews University, Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary, Berrien Spring, Michigan. He has a Bachelor of Arts in health, physical education and recreation from Loma Linda University, California.
