SVH: Career Day

SVH Hosts Career Day for High School Seniors

Career Fair to Help Students Learn More About Career Opportunities Available in Health Care Today

It is clear that the United States health care workforce is struggling with a severe nationwide shortage of employees. To help alleviate the problem, Simi Valley Hospital will introduce local high school students to careers in the medical field on Friday, May 9, from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Basement Conference Rooms at Simi Valley Hospital, 2975, Sycamore Drive, Simi Valley.

Students will be able to ask questions about careers in Nursing, Radiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Respiratory Therapy, Women’s and Children’s Services, Finance and Business, Nutrition Services, Pharmacy, Information Systems and much more.

Participants will also be able to tour specific areas of interest in the hospital as well as meet with college representatives to discuss health care curriculums.

With the demand for health care rising due to rapid growth of elderly Americans and the impending retirement of baby boomers, medical facilities across California are facing an employee crisis shortage.

Career education is important, and Simi Valley Hospital wants to encourage students to understand all career options available to them in health care. For more information, please call the Simi Valley Human Resources department at (805) 955-6860.
