Family Health Fair Offers Free Immunizations and Screenings

Ensuring the health and safety of children and adults in our community is the top priority for Simi Valley Hospital. In response to that commitment, physicians, nurses and staff members have united to offer the Simi Valley Hospital Family Health Fair. The event is scheduled for Sunday, June 1, 2003, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Aspen Outpatient Center, 2750 N. Sycamore Drive in Simi Valley.

The Family Health Fair is open to children ages two months to 14 years and their parents or guardians. Simi Valley Hospital healthcare professionals will be on hand to provide expert services and information. There will be a number of FREE health services for children, including:

  • Immunizations for MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), diphtheria, tetanus pertussis, IPV (polio), and HiB (haemophilus influenzae type B).
  • Screenings for blood pressure, vision, hearing, height, weight, dental health, respiratory function and scoliosis.
  • Education on obesity, exercise, diabetes, nutritional wellness, safety and staying tobacco-free.

The adults at the Family Health Fair will also have access to a number of valuable services, at no cost, including:

  • Screenings for blood pressure, body fat, blood glucose (diabetes), cholesterol and skin cancer.
  • Tetanus immunizations.
  • Access to the Healthy Families insurance program, as well as other services pertinent to family health and safety.
