Cheryl Nance Appointed Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive

 

Effective immediately, Cheryl Nance—a health care professional with more than 25 years of experience at the hospital and consultative level—will begin her duties as Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive for Simi Valley Hospital.

“We are pleased to have Cheryl join the Simi Valley Hospital family,” said Margaret Peterson, President and CEO of Simi Valley Hospital. “She will make an excellent addition to our executive team, and her past clinical and administrative experiences will compliment our mission of providing quality care to our patients.”

Nance is a former principal with Dean Associates, a health care consulting practice based in San Diego. Her specialties include collaborating with hospital staff to achieve organizational goals and streamlining processes to enhance care delivery systems for 25 health care facilities nationwide.

Moreover, Nance has experience in managing operations in acute care nursing, emergency and perioperative services, materials management, radiology, admitting, medical records, quality management, dietary and facility construction.

Nance’s resume reflects nursing and operational qualifications: Director of Invasive Services for the University of California at San Diego, California; Director of Surgical and Emergency Services at Paradise Valley Hospital, San Diego, California; Senior Consultant for Johnson & Johnson HSC, Ann Arbor, Michigan; Administrative Director of Ambulatory Services for Kettering Medical Center, Kettering, Ohio; Clinical Director of Ambulatory Services at Hinsdale Hospital, Hinsdale, Illinois.

Nance holds a Masters in Nursing from the University of California at Los Angeles and a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Loma Linda University, California. Nance is a member of the Organization of Nurse Executives-California and the National Honor Society of Sigma Theta Tau.
