Cancer Education & Support

Cancer patients and their families don’t have to go it alone. Support groups sponsored by Simi Valley Hospital and the American Cancer Society provide education and emotional support and introduce patients and their families to other people who are dealing with issues related to cancer. All support groups are free of charge.

Cancer Support Groups

Hope through Sharing (All types of cancer)
First and third Mondays of each month, 6-8 p.m.

ABC: After Breast Cancer
First Thursday of each month, 7-9 p.m.

Prostate Group (“Us Too”)
Second Wednesday of each month, 7-9 p.m.

I Can Cope

A twice-annual program for newly diagnosed patients and their families to learn how to better cope with cancer. This six-session program includes various nurses and doctors who offer their expertise and answer questions. Call (805) 955-8119 for more information.

I Care Program

The I Care Program sends trained volunteers to the bedsides of newly diagnosed cancer patients to provide emotional support and a listening ear.

Volunteers also deliver a comfort pillow and informational packets to help patients connect with important cancer resources. Volunteers are cancer survivors and their families, as well as others who have experience with a major chronic illness. For more information on I Care training, call (805) 955-8119.

Coincides with annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Breast Cancer Early Detection Program (BCEDP)
