SVH: Family Connection Classes & Teachers

Community Programs

Daycare Program

Simi Valley Hospital’s Family Connection daycare program offers its entertaining and educational After-School Club, as well as seasonal vacation camps, to the community.

“With all our programs, both our existing daycare program and our clubs and camps, our goal is to help children grow socially, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually and physically,” said Sandy Englen, director of Family Connection.

The After-School Club provides a camp-like atmosphere for fun and learning for children grades kindergarten through five. The program is available from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Qualified adult teachers lead the children through activities involving arts & crafts, science, music, dramatic play and motor skills development. Children also have ample opportunity to spend time on homework.

A free daily shuttle service from school to Family Connection is available for After-School Club participants who attend three area elementary schools: Big Springs, Township and White Oak. Transportation from other schools must be arranged privately.

Camp Fun

During Simi Valley School District holidays, Family Connection’s various seasonal camps provide wide opportunities for fun and learning for children grades kindergarten through five. The programs, similar in content to the After-School Club, are offered from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily throughout the school holiday.

Pre-school

The Family Connection preschool and childcare program is also accepting applications from parents of children ages two to five. The program runs Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and offers education and fun through creative arts and crafts, reading and school readiness activities and other opportunities. Children in diapers are welcome.
