Celebrating Our Transformation
SVH Announces a $41 Million Investment in Expanded Services
In February 2010, Simi Valley Hospital announced the next stage of hospital improvements.
Emergency Department Expansion
The surge in our com- munity’s population over the past several years has outpaced Simi Valley Hospital’s ability to provide adequate space for patient care in our Emergency Department. A planned expansion and renovation project will enlarge the department by 5,500 square feet
and enable us to double the number of patient beds—from 10 to 20.
New Cardiac Catheterization Lab
Simi Valley’s first-ever catheterization lab will be an indispensable resource for our community, located on the garden level of the Patient Care Tower. In addition, a family consultation room, an image reviewing area for physicians and space to add a second catheterization lab are part of the design.
Surgery Services Expansion
The first step in reno- vating and expanding Surgical Services is the construction of a spacious and technologically advanced suite large enough for complex surgical procedures. Plans provide for two additional surgical suites as demand for the service increases.
New Home for Gastrointestinal (GI) Services
Cancer-detecting colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and a wide range of other procedures will be available in a new and expanded GI lab when the service moves to the garden level of the Patient Care Tower.
Additional Enhancements
- A new inpatient MRI
- Structural and building enhancements
- Outpatient service improvements at the Aspen Surgery Center and the Nancy Reagan Breast Center
- Service expansion in Moorpark and Porter Ranch
